EarthScope is a National Science Foundation program to study the structure and evolution of the North America continent by installing hundreds of seismometers, GPS stations, and other scientific instruments across the United States. EarthScope provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers, and the public to participate in a national experiment going on in their own backyard.

Public

For planning and policy makers; land owners; park and museum educators and visitors; and lifelong learners. EarthScope provides opportunities for communities to learn about and participate in exciting science as it's happening.

K-12 Teachers and Students

For teachers and students in grades K-12 and home school families. Includes activities, map tools, presentations, visualizations, animations, teachable moments, research summaries, and lot more!

College Faculty and Students

For college and university faculty and students; EarthScope researchers; science and engineering practitioners; and other scientists. EarthScope's advanced instrumentation investigates some of the outstanding questions about the North American continent by looking deeper, increasing resolution, and integrating diverse measurements and observations.
